Let me recommend this website for straightforward, detailed plans to build a pottery kick wheel. It includes good photos, a pottery wheel parts list, and easy diy pottery wheel frame and wheel head assembly instructions.

There are lots of good free pottery wheel plans out there as well as cheap pottery kick wheel kits, but the one I mention above is easy to follow.
