Is there a place in Idaho Falls where we can experience making pottery?.

Question: My children are learning about pottery making in Ancient Mesopotamia. We would love to see it done and maybe try our hand at it. Do you do lessons or know of a place in Idaho Falls that does?

Answer: That's great that they are learning about the history of pottery. It really is great to be able to see pottery wheel throwing firsthand.

I don't know of any public studios in town. There are a few of us with private studios. Mine is an outdoor studio, so it's only partly operational in the winter. Brrrrr!

Are you from Idaho Falls? If you like, send me your contact info and I'll see what I can arrange!

Steve

P.S. There is a cool time line of the history of pottery on the Dick Blick website. I'll see if I can post it on my History of Ceramics page at:
