When making lids remember this

Lorraine:

I still have one of the first pots I made in college. It has a lid that I pulled. The knob goes almost straight up. This was wrong to do because you can hardly grab onto it to lift it off. Make sure it is somewhat rounded or angled in, so there is something to hold onto.

Steve:

Great advice Lorraine! I have made that mistake too, of not putting any texture or loop on the handle. When I tried to grab onto it, it just slid between my fingers, making the lid fairly useless. Great reminder, Thanks!

First pot with lid

I too have one of my first pots I made in college. I did the same as some of you...I pulled the handle strait up & now can not hold onto it. I now make rounded or lids with the handle angled in.
